Decaying Fruit

Like a barren tree

She stood

In the midst of the forest green

A thousand fallen leaves

Adorned the misty fields

Shattered like an empty dream

Each leaf crumbled

And dissolved

The fruits she yielded

Were ripped from every limb

For there upon its branches sat

The serpent that entwined with

Her existence

He tempts her

With decaying fruit

She stands in the midst of the forest green

To her the fruit

Seems ripe and ready to be eaten

The Earth was shaken

By a mighty roar

Rebuking her

For an action ill-advised

The serpent then

Sat back

Admiring the evil that had spawned

Between the woman and himself
